Etihad ignoring claim

Options
I travelled to the Philippines in june, the flight was delayed by 2 hours at Heathrow T4
Due to this i missed my connection at Abu Dhabi where i was put up in an hotel for 36 hrs then instead of flying from Abu Dhabi to Manila i was sent to Bangkok and then to Manila and had to wait 10 hours for my internal flight.
Needles to say I arrived to my destination exactly 48 hrs later.
I have logged twice a complaint via their website and you can only do it via a review page  and sent an email to them
They have been ignored my complaint and when i look into the complaint page there is the heading but no body of the complaint .
I dont know now what i can do to claim against them
Any suggestions
Thanks

One option is  - as I'm doing with Air France KLM - is to use solicitors like these

They take a good chunk of the compensation but,  for me at least, I can do without the feeling that I'm banging my head against a brick wall

what was the reason for the 2 hour delay from Heathrow? that will determine whether any compensation from the airline is due...lots of ATC delays this summer and that would be outside the airlines control.
  • to be honest not sure what the problem was. I did not take much notice as 2 hours was not a great deal
But i did not realise that it will throw me out by 48 hours. i had waiting times for the connections so waiting here or else where did not matter at the time, surely it did in the end

you could try one of the free flight checkers (Bottonline/EUClaim) to see if they believe compensation is due or not. If ATC or weather then no point in continuing to chase the airline as nothing due (unless accommodation/meals etc was not provided during the delay in which case you would be claiming reimbursement of these costs)
Maybe check if your travel insurance pays anything for delays...some policies pay £x for each 12 hours.
