...whether this is the end of offers for private sellers ...
I was on a chat with CS about something else and asked:

    09:38:32 UTC Them
I have checked with backend team on this and they have shared that From time-to-time eBay reviews, our ongoing promotional campaigns and may decide to suspend, change, or cancel them at any time
    09:38:35 UTC Me
    no worries
    09:38:38 UTC Them
So they have taken the decision not to offer promotions over the weekend of the 20th-22nd September 2024
    09:38:44 UTC Them
They will be rolled out in upcoming weeks
    09:38:49 UTC Them
So need not worry, globally sellers have not received the promotional offers
    09:38:59 UTC Them
You can save item in drafts and list them when it's rolled out
    09:39:01 UTC Me
Ah OK, so they'll be back again after this week?
    09:39:21 UTC Them
Yes right it will done in upcoming weeks

So it seems that we'll be OK for a while yet.
  • I don’t have any offers either, which is annoying because I forgot to renew my listings at the last weekend.

But what I have noticed is that my items are now selling better, after the discounted listings have expired, whereas before, there was little interest in the majority of items…

something is afoot. just logged in to my personal account and got pop up "you'll see things a little differently now its FREE to sell".
    "click to start selling."

just goes to normal selling page from there and can't see anything further other than the 1000 free listings, lets see what happens.

    I just got this too.
Does that mean free listing fee's (which we get anyways), or just completely free to sell??? Surely it can't be the latter??

That’s interesting, I wonder what it means. I’ve nothing on mine apart from the usual 1000 free to list ones.

well the pop up did say "free to sell" not "free to list".

i think Germany has totally free selling for private sellers already, maybe its coming?

i suspect 1st October will be when we know for sure.

It is being discussed on the eBay official boards but with no real consensus . The Germany thing has been mentioned, although on there apparently once you hit  1600 euro Turin over you must automatically upgrade to a business account.

Other suggestions tend to be around errors, either it meant to say ‘free to list’ or ‘clothes sell for free’ although neither are new so why any banner announcement to a few sellers is needed no one knows.

The banner seems to have appeared for a very few people.

  • It appeared for me, but if I go to list something, on the listing page it still says the generic FVF's will apply. There's no other mention of it anywhere - saw a thread on the eBay community forum where people are also just as confused. lol

Hope the normal offers come up this weekend!
  • I'm amazed eBay hasn't offered the option to pay for eBay items with payment funds, they could make FVFs free for private sellers and charge the 12.9% on withdrawal of funds to bank accounts, they'd sit on a lot of money which is good for them, private sellers would re-spend more money back on eBay which benefits both sellers and eBay plus  business sellers might be less inclined to use private accounts, particularly if pay out timeframes were more limited.
