Virgin ADSL

Options
Hi All

Quick summary....
I am currently with Sky TV and Broadband (£10 Max Option) and BT phone line....I am wishing to cut the TV off, I have Freeview and barely watch TV anyway, But I am probably going to have to wait until m year contract is up.

I am thinking of going with Virgin, However, I do not want their rip-off broadband (cable) service. I have noticed it says if cable is not installed in your area you can still get an internet connection with them through the phone line. They offer a package which is £14.99pm for the line rental (want to get rid of BT) and the internet .

The problem is we already have cable installed into the property, will they refuse to give us ADSL because of this.

The off net packages are different prices to the 14.99 a month and also still require Bt line rental, off the top of my head its 19.99 for the Max Broadband and the Anytime phone calls, you then need to pay BT the Line rental.

I actually have this package but one thing to not the Tech support number recently changed to a premium rate ( 10p/min), but they do have a free online chat that you can use if you can get online
The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.

The £14.99 non cable offer http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/internet/noncable.html
requires you to have a BT Landline.

You can actually get this offer for £10 a month for the first year.See: http://www.virgin.net/allyours/broadband/switch/

Even if your in a cabled area you can still apply for non-cable broadband as long as you have BT Line.
  • As far as I'm aware , VM will not offer you non-cable services if you live in a cable area .

A lot of people are very unhappy with Virgin Media at the moment - myself included.

If you haven't already then I would strongly suggest you have a look at some of the recent reviews before you decide for definite.
