I’ve always had my own, which generally looked at things at a higher level, year by year.

Before stepping away from the day job 3½ years ago, I had discovered https://whatapalaver.co.uk/tag/retirement, which I felt was a decent spreadsheet, & it broadly confirmed I was okay taking the leap.

Now I am this far in, I have a more detailed one on google sheets.
I have a row per month.
Next up, there are several columns for our various income streams (2 x SP, we have 3 other small DB ones that plus more for the early FIT solar generation 4 times a year).  Those things kick in at different times over the next 7 years, so I then get one column which summarises “passive income”.
Then I have more columns showing my DC pot, ISAs, etc….& where we will chose to draw from.

The nice thing for us is that by the time the last SP kicks in for us, we should need relatively little from those other pots, so we can potentially “front load” things whilst healthy.

Feels like the right way to manage things for us.  I imagine that is what a detailed financial planner would come up with.

    Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!

@MallyGirl, have Guiide actually announced or confirmed anything regarding support for couples?

I know it is on their agenda but I'm not aware of any communications on progress / timelines?

There was an email a day or so ago telling us that it's coming soon.

Received 17/9. Are you on their mailing list?

"A new guided product for yourself, or even as a couple

Summer is over and it's back to work time for most of us. (Maybe dreaming about retirement one day!)

Anyway, soon it will be dark before five again and thoughts will change to winter. Before the snow starts in earnest we are looking to launch two new key upgrades to help improve more retirement outcomes.

The first is our new guided pension product, fully integrated with your plan. The aim of this is to support you up to and throughout retirement at an affordable cost.

The second is couples planning. This is long overdue, we know lots of people want to plan retirement together as a couple. Our latest blog below tells you more about both and even how they could be used together if wanted.

We would love to know any feedback or questions you may have after reading our blog.

If you have any potential interest after reading our blog, please let us know at the end. We can then make sure we make this as good as possible for as many people as we can."

    Lol......
    Perhaps we are all nerds......

Joking aside, it is staggering how many people go into retirement with no idea what they are doing......

I remember trying to have pension conversations with my ex-colleagues ....
I might as well have been talking to the wall......

    2 months into retirement.....loving it....

I told a colleague the other day that I am probably retiring in 6 months, she is only a few years younger than me.  She said "I am green with envy." So I asked about her pensions and provision and said I'm happy to talk to her about how she might improve her pensions.

The reply "I hate thinking about pensions, as soon as I start I lose the will to live."

My pensions are my biggest asset, worth more than my house, even if it is tedious it has to be worth the effort to understand them.
Yes people, who otherwise come across as intelligent,  suddenly lose 50 IQ points when faced with pensions and the future.... weird!

    Absolutely true.
I always had an interest, but find many otherwise fairly bright friends & colleagues who are pretty clueless.
Before I stopped working, we had a regular session to discuss anything *not* to do with work.  I offered to run one about pensions: it was very well attended!
