    Thank you Gr1pr.

If iPark reply and also ask for any proof of my neighbour’s hospital stay/operation should we reply or ignore them?

Obviously if they say they are willing to drop the PCN if we send proof, that would be a no brainer, but if they just ask for proof for their records, do you think we should?

Thank you again everyone for your help.

Given the excellent advice in the last reply by coupon mad, I concur with her advice, on this rare but understandable occasion, because its rare for us to say to correspond with debt collectors, but I suppose that there are these rare cases which warrant action, for the greater good, especially for the victim here
  • my daughter has received a threatening letter(s) from DCBL after apparently exceeding the 40minute parking allowance for a UK shops parking allowance by a few minutes.
nasty little bullies. I asked for proof, like a photo of the car number plate, entry and exit times, who was driving etc as daughter disputes their "facts". They wrote back to me saying all action was in abayance whilst their client supplied the infor, then without warning or any info supplied, they proceeded to ramp up the letters with all sorts of threats. I called them up and challed them. They said it was too late to appeal and the "fine" had to be paid. I said no, I wanted the proof I requested previously. They told me to get in touch with "Civil Enforcement Ltd" (honestly, you couldnt make it up, why not call yourself "Legal McLegalStuff") but there is no mechanism to speak to anyone. Website wont allow correspondence neither. The form on their site says to talk to the debt collectors (see above) so it's round in circles. I shall await the court papers. All for overstaying in a shops carpark by a few monutes - ironically, buying stuff in their store!

    For simonearly

If you need advice regarding your daughters predicament, please start a new thread of your own ( as per the rules and etiquette. ) please note that although you can assist your daughter, you cannot just take over, she is the data subject so those companies should not be writing or corresponding with you , its her PCN, so she must deal with it

We cannot deal with 2 entirely different sagas my multiple people in one thread, and your Saga is different to that being discussed in this thread
  • Hello again!
A further update. As advised, I sent a letter (as my neighbour) and basically copied and pasted the end section.

I have attached a copy of the letter sent, and also of a reply received today from iPark.

Much to our annoyance, iPark ignored our instruction to post the reply to my address and still sent it directly to my neighbour. His wife is, again, quite stressed by more letters and is keen for my neighbour to settle the £20 offer. My neighbour is considering paying the £20 to be done with it all (considering his current health status) but was curious what advice may be offered here.

I thank you all again for your time and knowledgeable help so far.

    I would pay it.
    Personally.

I agree, it's a small price to pay to get the monkey off their backs, regardless of the circumstances

Pay it and everyone move on

Sadly I agree. I hope the landowner is updated in all this because they should be ashamed.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
