I would have thought someone could just plane out the top surface and be left with a nice oak board.Forget the sanding and stick on Facebook Marketplace for £100? Plenty of people making things like coat racks, lazer engraved signs or the like, 25sqm at £100 sounds like a bargain to me, people are paying £20 a sqm for tatty pallet wood on eBay.Failing that there is probably a bunch of ideas out there for pallet wood which you could emulate with the oak boards, depend upon whether that sort of thing is to your interest. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1

It should definitely be reusable to someone. Plenty of craft ideas as above and also picture frames, feature walls etc. List it as reclaimed oak floor boards and chuck it on market place for £100-150. Let someone make an offer if you don't really care what you get for itSome people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0

If you put it on Freecycle it will soon go.
Alternatively, do you have a local Men’s Shed, pretty sure they would take it off your hands.
Or a Woodturning Club? So many things those boards could be made into. My OH does woodturning, he would make pens from it, or glue layers together to make blocks which he would then turn into bowls, candle sticks, chopping boards, and dozens of other things.0 -
Well another person came to estimate our job, he said are you sure you don't want me to sand, fill and refinish it? - he pointed out that taking it out could cause damage to the sub floors as it looks like it's stuck down, at least in places...
So, I think the problem no longer exists, my wife's convinced it makes sense to renovate this floor and have the parquet flooring just in the front room, with a very similar colour between the two.
Works for me!
Shame I'd just started to think of all the things I could do with it lol0 -
I think you should go with your wife’s very wise decision. If I had solid oak flooring I would not want to do away with it!0
