What to do with old solid oak flooring?

Options
Guys,

If things go to plan then around 25 sqm of used solid oak flooring to do something with. It's tongue and groove, lacquered and solid - not engineered. About 15 years old at a guess, with some planks the laquer has gone, others it's fine.

I looked and I'm not sure it's worth selling, probably too much hassle for a fairly small reward. But, could it be used for something else?

I'm trying to think if could be used to make say some book shelves, or cube units? - it's 14cm wide and various plank lengths, 20mm thick.

It seems like a good opportunity but something tells me it could be a lot more trouble than it's worth..

Thoughts on a postcard!

Have you got another room you could lay it in, sand down and re-coat. Seems too good not to be used for its original purpose.

Sadly not, except for a bit under the stairs! I did wonder if I could somehow use it on the loft, but I sense that might be a bit heavy and a bit of a disaster, it's already boarded with low grade t&g chipboard!

    Garage?

    Raised floor for home gym.

Are you sure it's not worth selling? I would have thought someone could just plane out the top surface and be left with a nice oak board.

Sounds like a crime to burn lovely oak boards on a bonfire! :)

Don't have a garage, and the gym type area was recently done with spare tiles as it goes! I do try to reuse where I can! I'm even thinking of family members who might need some sfuff but drawing blanks!

I'd have thought I'd be lucky to get £5 a sqm based on the time needed to sand/plane it, which would get me say £150, if I had a buyer lined up.

Yeah! Tbh, if I don't use it the bloke doing the new floor will all most certainly keep it and recondition it. (Whilst charging me £50 to dispose of 'waste' lol)

The loft has these ropey t&g boards which are like weetabix, lower level than the joists, and with the insulation under them. I'm guessing based on this I can't really use floorboards in the loft unless I faffed with osb or ply over it first. Which suddenly becomes an expensive and time consuming hassle! So sort of defeats the purpose!
