Solar Power not Being Used

The rEd stands for reverse Energy detected. It shows that the meter has detected energy flowing from your solar back to the grid, but your current meter regards that as a fault, or attempt to defraud rather than actually registering it as export.(Used in the old days when people would swap the IN/OUT wires in an attempt to make the meter run backwards.)Meter change required. Installer should have noted this.3

Do you have an app from your solar installer? This will show what is generated, what is used and what is exported daily
Your current meter can't read export, so is maybe the reason for your discrepancy

rED in daytime on the meter just shows solar panels in use . If it shows it at night then it could possibly be a meter bypass .1

as @sac2334 said its reverse energy detected, you need a new meter and an export MPAN when you get it. So until we get a new meter fitted we won't get to use any of the solar energy?

Without a smart meter you also won't be getting paid for any surplus power you export.
Your solar installer really should have flagged this.1 -

It wouldn't help fraud detection otherwise.

Unless it's a really whacky installation it's actually impossible not to use the generated electricity. Power goes to the house electrical system and there's no way to stop house loads using it. Only surplus gets exported (sent out to the grid). It's just not possible for power to flow out to the grid at the same time as it flows in.
If power's being incorrectly metered then that's a different issue, a smart meter will sort that out.
