Flght delay - claim for expenses?

Our flight from Tunisia (only 3 hours) was delayed by 7 hours which meant we arrived back at about 10pm. I know I can claim compensation for the delay but it's cost me a small fortune having to pay an extra day kennel fees for three dogs at a premium rate as it wasn't booked in advance, cattery fees for an extra day and our pre paid transport from the airport was cancelled without refund and we had to get a taxi. Can I claim for any of that?

    As above.
Unless you have specifically arranged cover for the pets I doubt you'll have a right to claim their accommodation fees.
A refund on the taxi should be starightforward.

Depends on who you're expecting to claim from.

Flight delays may result in payments from the airline for reimbursing certain expenses (not those you've listed though) and fixed-tariff compensation if and only if the root cause was within the airline's control.  These regulations apply to flights from the UK/EU or on UK/EU airlines, so if the flight from Tunisia was on a UK or EU airline then those regulations apply.

Any claim to do with prepaid transport from the airport will depend on who it was booked with, and the associated Ts & Cs.

Anything else would be a matter for travel insurance, again subject to Ts & Cs....
