Qatar delay

Hi all
Recently experienced a 4.5 hour delay due to operational issues between Doha and Hanoi on Qatar airways. Our journey started in Manchester but is it not eligible as it is the second leg out of Doha that was delayed or does it still apply as we started in Manchester.
I have read the guide but still not sure
Many thanks in advance

Eligible or not, you will struggle to get anything related to EC laws out of Qatar.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. If it was a thorough ticket, you are eligible for compensation but although Qatar is great when things go well, they tend to have a very different reputation when they don't But at least you should start the ball rolling0

In terms of whether compensation will actually be due, it'll depend on the root cause - "operational issues" may be something within the airline's control, but it's a sufficiently vague term that it could also entail ATC restrictions or the like, where the airline may be able to hide behind extraordinary circumstances, although you'd expect the airline to make that clear when explaining the reason for the delay....0 -
