New member can't see replies to questions

Hello All,

I have just joined the MSE Forum to see questions and replies abour a topic I am interested in. But although I can see lots of questions about this topic that state they have received many replies, I can't seem to find anyway to view the responses in the threads referred to.

Please could a more experienced Forum member advise me how to use the site. I have read the Forum guide but have failed to spot anything there that could help me.

So how are you going to read this if you can't the responses?

You just click on the title to read the thread and see the responses.  You don't click on the numbers that says "2 comments" or whatever.

Thank you so much for responding to my question so promptly. Unfortunately, however, I am still in the same boat as before and I now cannot find a way to read your reply to my own question either.

Please could you continue to keep an occasional watching brief on this thread. I will keep looking in to see if I can find your response to acknowledge your suggestions and thank you properly.

@Fairkind - are you able to see this reply ? The fact that I've tagged you should give you a message to tell you that a reply is waiting for you and take you to it

If so it may take you into the whole of the thread you started and enable you to see Neil's reply as well. 
The only reason that I can think of for you not to be able to see replies is that you are browsing the various thread titles across boards on the forum but but not actually clicking on the thread title itself to select it - if you do you should see all the replies. 
(I've just realised I said 'clicking' as I use a laptop to view the forum - it may be helpful to say if you are trying to view via a mobile, tablet or computer....)

Thank you very much for making the extra effort to get your very helpful message to me. I am really grateful. I still don't really know what is going on, but it appears that the promblem I am having is only occurring when I try to use my old iPad to visit the Forum website. No threads actually appear anywhere on the screen at all where they should do.

I've now just estabished, in the last few minutes, that I can in fact see all the replies I need to on other devices. I am still flummoxed as to what the reason could be - but it might as well remain a mystery as I am able to get full access to the site now via an alternative route.

Thanks so much again for making the effort to get through to me. Because I am new to the site, I still don't know how to acknowledge helpful responses received yet. So I hope this grateful reply will do for now.

Your iPad probably hasn't had any updates for a very long time and websites are optimised for the latest and greatest.  Whether this is resolvable depends, as the support span on Apple devices may only be as short as five years.

You can acknowledge posts by clicking where it says "Thanks" (next to quote).
