Hi, could anyone advise me of any free antivirus apps please, I keep getting loads of emails from "Microsoft" telling me I've got a virus on my phone, but I'm not sure if it is microsoft or just spam, I've also been getting lots of spam emails as well,
Thank you in advance ☺️

I use Sophos Intercept X on my android phone. Never had a virus but I am very careful about what I do, and I have very high security around my email and internet use.I suspect the emails from "Microsoft" are most likely attempts at fraud. If I were you I'd consider changing email address and only giving out my email address to reputable people/organisations, so as to minimise spam.1

you don't need 'antivirus' on a phone. you have a email spam problem5

Agree with Ballyblack, antivirus isn't necessary for a mobile, and you have a problem with your email, not your phone.

As long as you aren't doing anything too dubious (such sideloading unknown apps, clicking on suspicious links) then you really don't need any AV on Android. I would think that the downsides in terms of slower performance outweigh any benefits. I can't remember ever having a malware of virus problem on Android.0

My rather cheap Motorola seems plenty fast enough with the av loaded. Is performance really an issue for an ordinary user?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
