Emirates Skywards Tiers

Hi, is anyone able to advise on the following with regards to Emirates Skywards Tiers please as I'm struggling to find the answer online?
My husband and I earned 27,500 miles each in May this year and online it says we will be in the Silver Tier until June 25.
We have just booked a flight for April 25 which will earn us 14,500 miles each so won't be enough for us to retain Silver for next year.
I have some AMEX points which I could convert to Skywards miles, but I am unsure as to how the Tier 'windows' are calculated and to the best time to convert the points to miles to keep or enhance mine or both of ours statuses.
I think my questions are
1. If I convert my points to 22,500 miles for example in Jan 25, with my existing 27,500 miles would that give me gold status and how long would this last for? Until June 25 or Jan 26?
Or
2. If I instead convert my miles to 8000 miles in April 25 would that together with the 14500 I earn in April 25 and my existing 27500 enable me to obtain gold status and again how long would this last for.
Apologies for the detailed post, but as we hope to travel alot of the next few years, and don't have the budget to always travel in business class, the extras that come with the Tiers will be a great bonus.
Thanks in advance

I think your mixing up Skywards Miles and Tier Miles. Tier Miles are required to move up status levels and Skywards miles can be used for rewards. When you convert Amex points you'll get Skywards miles in exchange which will have no effect on your retaining Silver or achieving Gold status. You have to actually fly to get more Tier Miles.

Thanks. I didn't appreciate that. Do you know if that is the same of you multiply existing miles or buy more?0

I'm not sure what ou mean by multiply miles but if you buy more from Emirates these will by Skywards Miles again, not Tier Miles.
