BA delayed bag compensation

Went to Cyprus in June from Heathrow T5 when they were having baggage issues. 15 minutes away from landing told by pilot bags weren’t on the plane. Filled out a paper form at the airport. Got bags on day 2 and 3 of holiday but has to buy essentials. 

Trying to claim for the essentials I had to buy and it’s slow. I have told them multiple times I don’t have a reference number which apparently I was meant to get at the airport. Told them by email six weeks ago again that I wasn’t given one and they replied today 
‘For the specific concerns you have raised, I'd request you please contact the Larnaca airport to get your World Tracer reference number. I'd like to 
inform you that if you do not have the World Tracer reference number, we will be unable to accept your claim’
i very much doubt the airport will still have that info, am waiting on a reply. If not what do I do next?

What happened at the airport on arrival? Airlines would normally take details of the missing baggage, tag number, description and your forwarding address and give you a reference. World Tracer is a computer system that will hold data for many years...your reference will likely be LCABAxxxxx (you need to find the 'x's)
