BIG problems with Orange phone - can I cancel my contract???

Options
Hi, I took out a £35 pcm business contract over 18 months - this was 3 months ago. I am now using my 4th Nokia N73.

The phone has been absolutely useless from the beginning. Missing voicemails, echoing both ends, poor battery life, too slow to use properly, having to reset after each call, etc etc etc....

All the N73 phones I have tries have had the same faults and talking to other people, they have had similar experiences too. As I rely in my phone for my business, I cannot put up with this anymore as it appears to have been affecting my business adversely - people can't connect etc.

Orange customer "service" has been woeful so far, and they are unwilling to change the model of the phone, instead I keep getting replacement "reconditioned" N73s! ARRRGH!

Surely as they are not keeping their side of the contract i.e. suitable equipment for the contract duration, I am within my rights to cancel - stop my direct debit and inform with a letter?

The only way they will keep my business is to upgrade / change the model of my phone.

Can I threaten to cancel this contract? Should I be seeking some form of credit as compensation? I have had to wait in four times now with a FOUR HOUR window for the delivery of each phone! (the first time the courier never even showed - and they charged me for each delivery!!!)

Any thoughts / advice appreciated!

Thanks...(rant over):o

  • I had the N95 or N75 and it was useless. Ended up selling it on ebay and buying a cheap pay as you go. I've got orange down to 25pounds a month on my contract but I'm hoping to cancel it too.

after 3 replacement handsets you are ENTILTLED to a DMR or DRM

    Different Model Replacement/Different Replacement Model

    anyhow its one of them...lol

call 150 & tell them " the Orange store told you to call and request it, & if 150 refuse DEMAND it, its Orange's policy "

id speak to a manager about it all and ask for compo aswell as your DRM/DMR as you should never have had a 4th N73 sent out

the problems are the Orange software they enforce Nokia to install not the actual N73, ask for a Nokia N95 as replacement, it is the only Nokia that Orange offer that matches the N73's specifications, if 150 manager will not sort it out, ask for upgrades manager
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
