EMI filter

Cleaned my dryer and now have to reconnect it. Didn't take pic before disconnecting and now bit confused about markings on EMI filter. Do I understand it correctly as I marked in pictures? Thanks.

Yup. Your labeling is a reasonable assumption. If you have a multimeter, you can use it to check continuity between adjacent terminals before connecting any wires to it..Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Thanks. Cables are coloured and I know which one is which, just wasn't sure about the pins since they weirdly spaced.0

If you look carefully at the tags, you should see some marks where the connectors were originally - Possibly the outer two ?

There are 6 cables, 2 neutral, 2 live and 2 earth, so 4 bottom pins where all plugged. I just wanted to double check I understood them correctly.0

Almost certainly it's as you've drawn, and that component does not look polarised, so the L and N can be swapped around - in matched pairs.
BUT, 'almost' ain't good with mains leccy! Could you post the actual part number for that filter so's we can look it up, please?1 -

Thanks S62 - alas no images that show how it's wired. However, I am 99.99%* confident it is as you have drawn, Sallywin, and that the terminals are exactly as you have labelled.Note that the two LH terminals are 'L' as shown on their own label, and that the wire colour for this is brown - so the two browns go on the two LH terminals, and the blue - 'N' - on the right-hand two. I'm pretty sure that the filter is not actually polarised, but best to follow 'convention'.Obvs don't forget the earth wires.Happy bang.* + 0.01%1

Hi, the part is exactly as it shows in section62's link. This is how I plugged them in. I think the spacing now makes more sense. The middle two holds the power cord.ThisIsWeird said:Could you post the actual part number for that filter so's we can look it up, please?
