Best Provider for Long Term ISA

I'm helping my son with setting up some investments. I'm thinking of a low cost tracker that he's going to be putting away for 40 or so years. Are there any particular providers who specialise in this? Are there any ones to avoid? TIA.

ISA providers aren't really a particularly significant aspect of such decisions - the key factors need to be whether or not investing is appropriate at all (likely if long term), then which tax wrapper (why not pension rather than ISA for 40 years?), then investment strategy and actual products, before considering platform choice.

If a tracker is the best solution for his requirements, then all mainstream ISA providers will offer all the mainstream products - costs are likely to be relevant, but not necessarily the most significant issue, and can be compared at sites such as https://monevator.com/compare-uk-cheapest-online-brokers/

40 years puts you into LISA or pension wrapper territory. Both of those are better than ISA.  So, why are you looking at ISA?

All whole of market platforms meet the criteria.  There is nothing specialist about investing in a fund.

    Use tax shelters whenever possible.
Pensions: For very long term investing you get "free money" & investments are untaxed until you withdraw.
Stocks & share ISA: For long term investing, lets say at least 10 years.
Cash ISA: Money needed within 5 years should be in a savings account.

So if saving for 40 years & it is not going to be touched until retirement, consider, Pensions.

    Consider
    1. Watch this:  https://www.kroijer.com/
    (a) Passive low cost Global Index tracker Fund or ETF.
    Example VWRP.
    (b) Passive low cost Global Multi Asset Fund with a share/bond split you are comfortable with, like 60/40.
    Example: https://www.hsbc.co.uk/investments/products/hsbc-global-strategy-portfolios/#balanced.
    (c) Target day Fund:   https://monevator.com/vanguard-target-retirement-funds/

    2. Lifetime ISA:
