Search for old car finance company

Hi there I bought a car in October 2015 and the dealership don’t have the paperwork and therefore don’t know which finance company we used . Unfortunately the bank that we used can’t go that far back to check either.  I’m sure we could be eligible for a missold claim but I don’t know how to get the vital information.

Check your credit file? Depending on when it was paid off it may or may not show.

Dealerships tended to use own brand finance companies unless you are referring to an an independent.  

If you used an independent, then it's unlikely DCA would apply.
