My mobile is pretty much in excellent condition.
Two companies I've had this with now. Exactly the same.....
1. Offer a high price and you send phone off.
2. Come back with a 50% offer saying there are large scratches on screen.
3. I refuse and they offer £10 more.
4. I refuse again and they offer another £10.
5. I refuse and they send it back.
Seems a bit of a bait and switch con here. I know my phone is in good condition. It seems its a scam because I guess they know people are going think "hmm perhaps I didn't see those scratches" and "I can't be bothered with having it sent back and then having to sell again"
If these con artists want to waste their money on postage for me to send and then them to send back then carry on but does anyone know any seller that doesn't do this?

Why do you need to get rid if it's in excellent condition? This is MSE, after all!0

Which websites were you using? I used Backmarket last year and got a really good price for my old phone. Another alternative is to sell it on Ebay where you can set whatever price you want, although Ebay charge seller fees.0

I've used Mazuma in the past and not had any problems at all.0

As far as recyclers go, I've used Fonebank several times over the years and it's been problem free each time (even when I thought I was chancing it a bit with categorising my handset condition). Used Cex recently too, and it went surprisingly smoothly.0

I've used Mazuma several times without problems, but last year they claimed( falsley) that the phone was water damaged. I took it to CEX who checked it out on the spot and paid out more than Mazuma had originally offered.0

Even Mazuma knocked price down by £10 but better than the others.....0
