Retailer responsible for refitting costs?

This was never mentioned previously. In fact, I thanked them for accepting liability and was never corrected. They responded at the time with "you're welcome, tray is on its way" type of message - thereby implying that I was correct in stating they had accepted liability. 
    If you had a definitive statement from them that they accepted liability you may have an arguement about not being able to rescind it in a small track case however they haven't actually stated they accept liability only implied it if you put the communications back to back which is really too weak an argument to state its unquestionable that they accepted it... like all those motor accidents where people think that the other person saying they were sorry etc equates to it being their fault when the third party insurer decides actually its more likely them that is at fault.
