Builder Contact Details

We purchase a new build bungalow 12 weeks ago from a 2 men builder (limited company).  The transaction was painful and at one stage we walked, but they made promises on the issues which in general were fulfilled. Till now the estate agent has been fielding all enquires, but the builders have now fallen out with him, as a result of questions being asked by us and the builders not responding.

We have asked for the contact details  of the builders via our solicitor, but the reply came back that he is not authorised to release these details.  The estate agent has also been told not to release their contact details.

I feel that we have upset the builder with our enquires (warranties for items in the house, ie gates, heating, white products, showers, etc).

Is there any legal precedence on the builder providing contact details?

I have yet to have a detailed conversation with my solicitor on my rights and a way forward.  Therefore just looking for opinions from others in the know.

Can you confirm which ? As far as I'm aware its either a sole trader or a limited company, they can't be both.

Didn't realise.  So 2 men trading as a limited company. Edited the post.

What are the contact details on  Companies House registration.

Companies house only gives an address.  Would like mobile numbers.

Nobody needs to share phone numbers with you. Your solicitor will be in contact with their solicitor.

This is a house-buying question really, nothing to do with consumer rights.

There is no legal requirements for you to have mobile phone numbers nor for them to be shared. 

If you have the details of the legal entity making the same you have all you need to enforce your rights. That said, its not normally too hard to track down contact details for organisations as they typically want to gain more business so have details publicly available.

If it's a new build you should have some form of warranty such as NHBC.  If you have problems they will contact the builder directly and if in the first 2 years will get them to undertake any work necessary.

With regards to their telephone numbers I'm amazed you can't find it online.  How do they get new business?
