    https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html

Read the FAQs on that link

Cost (earlier this year anyway) was $25 (dollars not pounds)
Assuming you'll be applying for the e-Tourist visa (30 days), you can only apply within 30 days of travelling to India (no earlier)
Make sure you have a paper copy of the approved visa

    You're welcome
My advice would be to do it asap once you're in the 30 window before travelling.  It's not the easiest of websites to use - the TripAdvisor forum for India will also help - or come back & add to this thread if you have questions (I have bookmarked it so will get a notification when I log on)

I agree it's not the simplest of websites. IIRC there were masses of what seemed to be duplicate questions and they wanted a square photo uploaded rather than the usual passport size. 🤔

I went to India a few years ago and, while the application form wasn't a big issue, the photo size was a bit of a pain. My advice is to go to a Snappy Snaps if you live near one as they can produce photos to the size required for Indian visas.

I've just been looking at the prices for the visa and it's only £31.44 for the year so that's not to bad
  • I've just purchased e-Visas for India, arriving 02/12/2024. The visa states 'double entry', but we are on a cruise and stopping  at 3 ports in India. We were not aware of this until the visa was granted.
Is this likely to be a problem? Has anyone experienced the same issue?

Are you on the official site?  KittenChops suggested that the price was 25 Dollars - under £20.

Is that the e-visa (valid only for short visits)? A full visa allows you to stay for six months, but you have to attend the embassy to get one.

Not sure about "usual size", it may not be the UK passport photo size but we are more the outlier than the norm. India, China, US, Indonesia are all square photos and most 2" x 2" or metric equivalent.
