Read the FAQs on that link
Cost (earlier this year anyway) was $25 (dollars not pounds)
Assuming you'll be applying for the e-Tourist visa (30 days), you can only apply within 30 days of travelling to India (no earlier)
Make sure you have a paper copy of the approved visa0 -
Thank you Kitten as I'm not going until November I'll have to leave it another month.0

My advice would be to do it asap once you're in the 30 window before travelling. It's not the easiest of websites to use - the TripAdvisor forum for India will also help - or come back & add to this thread if you have questions (I have bookmarked it so will get a notification when I log on)1 -
I agree it's not the simplest of websites. IIRC there were masses of what seemed to be duplicate questions and they wanted a square photo uploaded rather than the usual passport size. 🤔0

I've just been looking at the prices for the visa and it's only £31.44 for the year so that's not to bad0

I've just purchased e-Visas for India, arriving 02/12/2024. The visa states 'double entry', but we are on a cruise and stopping at 3 ports in India. We were not aware of this until the visa was granted.
Is this likely to be a problem? Has anyone experienced the same issue?0 -

Is that the e-visa (valid only for short visits)? A full visa allows you to stay for six months, but you have to attend the embassy to get one.
