Sell without agent

  • Many buyers will ignore properties listed by the likes of quicksilver, purple Bricks etc. Too little service too much trouble.
    But that's just my opinion.
I wouldn't ignore a property based on the agent. If it's the house I want it doesn't matter at all to me whose selling it. Once the solicitors are involved I plan to never speak to them again.

I can't see that my solicitor will have an isue with looking at a bank statement that I've emailed to him, he's kinda ok with emails and stuff.
Never met anyone that only buys from specific brands of estate agents before, to be honest I didnt know that it was a thing.
But thanks for the input all the same

But why do you want your solicitor to look at it, rather than just read it yourself?

If you are prepared to pay for his office's time then I'd say he's smiling happily.

A valid point. I was going to read it myself then send it to my solicitor. The sale is on a fixed fee. I must enquire if this fixed fee includes reading an emailed bank statement from the purchaser as I wouldn't want to be out of pocket,
Perhaps the solicitor will take my word without actually seeing it?

Take your word about what? Your solicitor isn't going to care whether your buyer is good for their money. That's up to you.

Keep up at the back !
Please stop getting upset about if I email my solicitor the purchasers bank statement or not, It's irrelevant.

Back on topic. I think you have made it clear that we all throw £1000s at estate agents for something that can be done without them.

Make sure the buyer is aware you're forwarding on their personal details.

    Just a quick update.
House sold for almost asking price, I listed it on Quicklister for £80.
In the hands of our solicitors now.
If anyone reading this is thinking of doing the same , I would say yes go ahead.

Well done. I don't know why some people are so protective of estate agents for the (perhaps small set of) scenarios where they can add little value.
