Euro Car Parks - Claim Form received (from DCB Legal)

I doubt that the mediator is correct, certainly not from what we see on here
Yes follow the process, wait for your court order to arrive in the post next year1 -
Put in a complaint about the Mediator lying that costs at a parking case hearing are 'much higher' than the claim. That is patently untrue.
There is no such risk and their service MUST STOP misleading victims of parking cases. The hearing fee (if the Claimant pays that) is £27 and the PCN plus court filing fees is £185.
The rest of the claim is always exaggerated and even if you lost, you'd pay LESS than the claim. Typically, no interest and no £70 fake 'damages'. Typically it's £212 if a person attends a hearing and loses v a parking firm.
It is important that people contact the Mediation Service to stop them lying about costs risk.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

"It is important that people contact the Mediation Service to stop them lying about costs risk."
A heads-up - when I sent an email "General Enquiry" (on the off chance they would actually reply) regarding this and other Mediation Service protocols they replied:-
"Please ensure you have quoted the correct case number. This will be an eight-digit code in the format of letters and numbers and can be found on all court correspondence."
So just posting the above FYI.3 -
The RAC says drivers shouldn't be fooled into thinking the rebel code recently launched by the private parking industry itself is the same as the long-delayed official Private Parking Code of Practice that is backed by 2019 legislation. The average rate of private parking tickets has increased from 34,000 tickets a day in 2023 to an alarming 41,000 tickets per day in 2024. Extortionate fines, intimidating tactics and a biased appeals system will continue to increase at the same frenzied rate until the Government intervenes. All the work has been done, the Government just needs the courage to face up to the greedy anarchists running the industry:

Small Claims Mediation ServiceIf you have any complaints or issues to raise about the Mediation ServiceEmail: scmreferrals@justice.gov.uk
You're not the first person to post here that the mediator lied about court costs. The PPCs, Debt Agencies and Legals all tell lies to motorists we don't need another service provided by the MoJ lying to us too.4 -
Hi all, by way of an update I have just received the Notice of Allocation to the Small Claims Track (Hearing) paperwork. It says that the claimant has until 11 April to pay the court trial fee of £27, will I be informed of whether they pay this or not? What is my next step now?0
-
Courts won't tell you about the trial fee, you will need to contact the court after the deadline; more importantly is the deadline you have (will be on your notice of allocation - might be on the back) for submitting your witness statement and evidence, which is your next step.2

You already know all the steps from reading the second post of the NEWBIES thread. Refresh your memory. It's all there, including a list of evidence to include.Motty2014 said:Hi all, by way of an update I have just received the Notice of Allocation to the Small Claims Track (Hearing) paperwork. What's your WS deadline then? It's on that Hearing letter, page 2. But you won't need it!

Thanks I will take a look. Looking at the letter it says documents must be delivered 28 days prior to the hearing date so I assume it is on or before 11 April as shown on the letter?Coupon-mad said:
