EE Full Fibre vs Virgin Media Cable - should I switch to EE from VM?

Currently in a cable area and have the broadband-only 1Gbps package. Generally satisfied with VM but it’s £78/mo, and that seems a lot for just internet.
Card popped through the door today saying EE now has “full fibre” in my area - a quick check on the website confirms my address is capable of receiving it. The 900Mpbs package is £49.99/mo with no installation fee, and they’ll pay any exit fee from VM, so it all seems a bit too good to be true.
I’ve no experience of EE’s broadband and have been a VM cable customer for decades.
So, tl;dr: is it worth it to switch?

I have Zen 900Mb/s over CityFibre for £40/month (no in-contract increases).EE are now part of BT.£78/month seems a lot for Virgin BB; when i said I was leaving last November they eventually offered me £43/month for 1 Gb/s, but I'd already ordered Zen. I did downgrade to their £19 for 125 Mb/s offering as a backup, though.1
