Cannot get broadband via Openreach

Hi, According to Openreach we have superfast broadband at our home but every provider I have contacted has said they cannot provide broadband to our home and said we need to contact Openreach (who seem impossible to contact). We are currently with Virgin and want to switch. Has anyone come across a situation like this before? We don't know who to contact and don't want to be stuck with Virgin who keep hiking their prices up...

What does this checker return ?

If it's only FTTC with the last part over the phone line then it could be that your local cabinet is full or there is a stop-sell on FTTC products.
If Openreach or anyone else such as Cityfibre have not cabled the area for FTTP you may be stuck with Virgin.0 -
I am in the same boat, moved into 6 year old bungalow property 4 months ago and despite having OR fibre throughout the town, there is no line of sight to serve the house. I was with BT and they tried to transfer the service to the new house but after a survey it was going to cost £4k to dig up our drive. I have gone with Virgin as that was provided when the house was built. The other option I had was to go down the 5G BB route, so that may be the only option for you if you want to escape Virgin.0

No provider should be advising you to contact Openreach , they are not customer facing , that why they seem impossible to contact , you are not supposed to try and contact them , so the ISP asking you to contact OR , is one personally I wouldn’t be considering ( they obviously haven’t a clue ) , it’s for ISP’s to make enquiries with Openreach, not consumers.
The issue may be as already mentioned, if the FTTC ‘cabinet’ has no spare ports , then FTTC service can’t be ordered until a port becomes ‘spare’ ….capacity in these cabinets is dynamic as people leave and join ( moving home , dying, joining other networks, relying on mobiles only etc ) , so you may need to keep checking the wholesale DSL checker , and when SoGEA shows as ‘available’ ( that’s assuming it’s currently ‘waiting list’ ) , get an order in with an ISP ASAP .0
