You forgot the 50% of the time that their on their mobile Phone, and going out for "A Fag":T:T:T8 hours? surely a tiny job like this could be done in less than 4 hours including at least 3 tea breaks and rifling through the lady of the houses knicker draw. That makes it £325 per hour - outrageous.0 -
Roddydogs: Have you been bitten by a 'corgi' in the past? You'll be much safer if you stay on your leash and don't wander into unknown territory:D
To the OP:have you had any joy with your water heater (mentioned in this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=655155 ) ? If you can get the water heater sorted then no need to fork out for a combi at the moment.

So how much do you charge for labour, i mean the time you are actually doing the job?0

Everyone seems to have it in for plumbers! I am not a plumber.
Facts. A new combi boiler including flue and controls costs over £1K. Installing it competently and removing two old boilers would take at least 1 days labour. Three rads could cost £100-£300 according to size, plus the pipe and valves. I was looking at a fancy designer one in Homebase for a cool £450 each. Plumbing a new one and changing two old ones could take another days labour. Corgi registered plumbers are in great demand so you will not get a cheap one. £2.5K does not seem excessive to me but please get 2 or 3 quotes.0 -

Less than what we paid in labour charges to have the clutch replaced in the van last month. If you post the same query on www.diynot.com in the plumbing and heating forum you will receive a range of responses. Further info on career opportunities, consumer advice etc is available at www.iphe.org.uk. Perhaps you could share with interested parties details of your employment situation
but I don't believe the current direction of this thread is relevant to the OP's query so I'll end my contributions at this point. My apologies to the OP.

So answer the question!
I've already told you - £325 per hour. We all charge the same. Plus of course any loose change we see lying around when we rummage through your possesions. It's plumbers law and we are of course all millionaires - don't let the holes in the knees of our trousers fool you.0
