Quantum rads v. panel heaters for bedroom and kitchen

We are in the process of replacing our "main" hall very old SH with a Qunatum. We have taken the "old" storage heaters out of our kitchen and bedroom. In the kitchen we now have a plinth heater for the times we need heat, and in the bedroom we have a panel heater for the (very) occasional times we need it.eg to heat the room up for a few minutes before we get into bed, then we use an electric blanket. For the last 2 years we have only put 2 SH on, one in the hall, the other in the living room which is supported by a coal / wood multi fuel burner......"It's everybody's fault but mine...."0

I was fine in the old place as I also had a back-up electric fire. These rooms are much bigger though and with the windows as well, plus high ceilings, it is more of a challenge. I used to have a coal fire - I miss that too! I might see how well the plinth heater does. The switch for it is in an awkward spot though.Stubod said:We are in the process of replacing our "main" hall very old SH with a Qunatum. My Mum had plug-in panel heaters and they worked fine with plug-in remote adapters (rated at 3kw but only controlling 1kw or less heaters) She was 86 and it meant that she didn't have to scrabble round to turn them on and off and had the advantage that she could turn them on and off from her bedroom before she got up in the mornings.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1
