It's mostly climbing on it's own though occasionally a bit will head out at 90 degrees and I'll tuck it back in with the rest.Katiehound said:^^^
I agree, I have 2 x montana, 1 x alpina & 3 x named 'big' flower varieties and none of them look like your plant.

I don't have any winter flowering ones so can't help there.

That is armandii. It flowers in late winter once established ( It also grows very big!)1

Hurrah! I've got a big arch it can take over (a different type is on the other side) and if it needs more room it can duke it out with the two rambling roses that cover the 20 foot pergola. There's a perennial sweetpea under that as well that does little so maybe it will learn from the clematis's example.....FlorayG said:That is armandii.
