PCP claim Nissan

Hello, we have made 2 direct claims with Nissan and today we have received an email for Courmacs Legal for us to complete a form. We are suspicious as on their website it is showing 51% charge. They seem to have our account numbers and know email addresses so does anyone know if Nissan have instructed Courmacs or is this a random claim company trying it on. The email they sent is very brief and has no further info.
Many thanks

I can't see why Nissan would want to pass your details on to a legal firm to represent you when they'd be better off having a presumably non-legally trained person take them on instead.
Have you made any enquiries about this before or did you go straight to making a claim with Nissan?0 -
Thank you for replying. No, we followed the instructions on this website and used the template Martin suggested. They are emailing us 3/4 times a day and texting us to fill out their questionnaire. working too hard for all this!!!0

Are you sure that the claims were logged directly with Nissan (Finance).0

Yes, we followed all the instructions on this website, they even have the correct email address to send it to. I’m so confused 😐 working too hard for all this!!!0

so does anyone know if Nissan have instructed Courmacs or is this a random claim company trying it on.There is absolutely no chance Nissan Finance have passed your details to a claims company that would charge you for using the free-of-charge complaints process. The whole point of the regulated complaints process is that it is without charge. They would be fined by the FCA if they did that.

Courmacs are a no win no fee claims company. If you win, they take a cut. VW wouldn't use a company that way as the regulated complaints process is free of charge to the consumer. And they certainly would not charge you for your time if you withdraw. So, it looks like you have engaged a claims company rather than VW.
Have you inadvertently used a clone site that made you think it was VW? Or clicked on links from facebook?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). i used the Martin Lewis link on the 7th February and got a reply from VW finance in June. Courmacs started pestering me in September sending me a form with my details on and a digital signature on asking for photo id for VW. Recent emails from them have suggested i will be charged for their time so far if i dont proceed.0

The regulated complaints process does not allow consumers to be charged. Either through withdrawing their complaint or having a cut paid to a third party that you did not employ.
If you feel courmacs have missold their service, then you should make a complaint to them. However, they are not FCA regulated. They are regulated by the SRA which means lower consumer protection than the FCA.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
