Water usage normal?

in Water bills
Just wanted an opinion about our water usage.
According to the bill from 1 APR to 16 AUG (138 days) used is 57 m3, which cost £218.
Using TW smart meter it's £52/month based on usage. It says we average around £1.54 a day.
I don't think we have a leak. Not doing anything unusual just quick showers, washing dishes and use the washing machine (twice a week). On the odd occasion water plants.
I know it's subjective but would you say this is a normal average bill for two?

You are averaging 206.5 litres a day per person. I am a single person, I average 141 litres per day, that includes me showering every day and 2-3 days a week showering twice a day, no garden to water, mostly only run the washing machine and dishwasher on full loads etc.
The average per person in the UK is 142 litres every day, but that varies between household, households with children tend to be higher users, households with only one person tend to be higher users per person than those with multiple occupants (easier to run full laundry loads, dishwasher run when full rather than needing to be run because it starts to smell etc.). Garden watering can throw out figures entirely. Then the variance between WFH or retired vs people who go to work and so are not at home during the day.

I would put our average use at about 100 litres for 2 adults. Dishes are washed once a day, nobody is having showers daily, clothes washing done a couple of times a week, also dishwasher. Biggest use by far is for the loo which a top rating gives as 6 litres per use. We do have a large garden but haven't needed the hose at all this year due to having sufficient rain to fill the water butts.
That said I'm estimating as we haven't had a working water meter for about 18 months. Recently replaced so the next bill will be interesting.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. We are at home all day, have an automatic garden watering system which runs from April to September, shower 2-3 times each a week (ECO shower head). Dishwasher three times a week and probably 2-3 washing loads a week.
We get through around 72 cu.m a year = an average of around 197 litres a day for the two of usNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -
That's not outlandish. 57/4.5 months = 12.6 cu m / month. As a retired couple we probably use 6 cu m per month, maybe. Actually a lot less when it rains as we flush the toilets with harvested rainwater. Our water and sewage is £24 a month but might need to be increased if we don't get more rain.
But you should have been taking monthly meter readings to spot any leak issues.
Toilets passing water into the pan due to the flush valve 'letting by' is one common cause.

My bill also seemed high last year. It turned out that the water meter was leaking, billing was suspended until a new meter was installed + I got compensation. If OP does not have an outside meter, maybe an outside pipe is leaking.

The average water usage for one person per year is estimated to be 50,000 litres, 50 cubic meters, per year. Most people use nowhere near this amount of water unless they just turn the tap fully on and leave it on until they've done whatever they're doing, then it could be more than 50,000 litres per year.
My yearly usage is around 12,000 litres of water per year.Someone please tell me what money is0 -

Severn Trent, a single person who doesn't WFH, has the usual washing machine & dishwasher (run when full) and garden (in the height of summer that's maybe 3 x 20 litre watering cans a couple of times a week). I do like a nice long hot shower though.
