1st phone - lost in transit.

Replacement phone - lost in transit.

Yet another replacement phone - empty package.

Next - 'my husbands account closed' and 'our records show that we closed another account of yours for not meeting terms of our conditions of use agreement'

I mean, one phone lost in transit, ok, it happens. Two phones lost in transit, and it's starting to look a bit odd. But, then a 3rd phone goes missing too? And, Amazon shut the account because of, presumably, previous suspicious behaviour on the account. You can surely see how it looks?

Either you're really, really unlucky or there's some other issue at play here?

Btw, you should still be able to check some of the transit details because Amazon send emails or messages about delivery status, as do Royal Mail and other couriers. We order A LOT from Amazon, I mean daily deliveries, and are constantly getting updates as to dispatch, in transit, delivered or otherwise. I assume you must have emails/messages telling you where the parcel is?

Why do you think the fact that a phone is lost in transit is of any concern to the OP as I could not see how the OP's actions could or could not make the slightest bit of difference if a phone was never delivered to them and there was no suggestion that it was.

I-Phone will come in a box, given the size of the actual apple box.
The OP refers to an envelope

he hands me an empty envelope and walks away. I stop him, explain it's too light to have what I ordered in it. He seems shocked, opens package and sees it's empty,

Presumably it was sealed as no mention is made that it was not.

If what the OP has said is correct, Unless somebody had a stock of Amazon envelopes it must have been empty when it left the depot.

So it’s difficult to know if it had been previously opened. The driver took it back off me before I opened it (I didn’t need to, as I could feel from the weight it was empty). He opened it without breaking the seal, by lifting the cardboard from the glue. When he put it down, it re-stuck. Making it look like it hadn’t been opened at all.

Too late now but I'd never order a phone online for delivery, always buy or collect in a physical shop and open the package there and then with CCTV coverage.

Too many stories of non-delivery / substituted delivery.

Did you actually pay with a credit card or debit card?
I’d not known of any reports like this form amazon. Only ever had good experiences with them before.

    Debit card.

Something in the distant past perhaps that's been forgotten. Amazon are tech based. They've managed to find a connection in their records.
Very frustrating, obviously something triggered the algorithm- but falsely! My husband and I haven’t done anything wrong here.

  • I find there is an odd correlation between 1st time posters and wrong/none delivery from Amazon... yet to see someone who's been here for months/years to report the same despite many saying they're a regular Amazon user.
First time poster, as usually the forumites have answered my already before I have needed to post!

But yes, I’ve been following MSE for many years, and this is only the 2nd time I’ve been robbed of over £500…

Would an Amazon driver even know they're delivering an iPhone as I expect it probably comes like this, I'm pretty sure the label does not indicate the contents either?

    Recycling your Amazon packaging
Driver insisted he didn’t know (and I don’t think he would have had the cheek to deliver such an obviously empty package if he was responsible… but who knows!)

Yes this is the envelope I received. No information about contents except a weight- 0.39Kg (which indicates something was in it at some point!)

  • I-Phone will come in a box, given the size of the actual apple box.
New iPhone boxes are about an inch high, so would fit in the envelope.
  • Not necessarily for a s/h or refurb one  (which I assume this was due to the price). Back Market for example send all phones in a very slim, cleverly designed, anonymous looking package.
Was brand new. (Great deal I know, found it on here!)

new iPhone boxes are less than an inch now.

The two “lost in transits” never reached us, and amazon confirmed they had lost them.

Yes I feel very “unlucky” right now. But reality is probably some employee saw the one-time passcode requirement of the package and tried their luck.
