Morning ,

I requested a transfer of my Chip Cash ISA (for full balance) to my Trading 212 Stocks and Shares ISA on 7th August 24, but Trading 212 still shows progress as 'contacting provider'. I've not heard anything from Chip and my ISA funds still show in my account.

Is it normal for transfers to take this long? Will it take longer as this is a Cash ISA to S&S ISA?

I'm just considering if it would be quicker for me to cancel my transfer request and then resubmit as a Cash ISA to Cash ISA?

Thank you

It should not have taken this long, and should not take longer just because it is cash to S&S. It would be worth chasing T212 and see what they have to say.

Read up to15 working days for cash ISA transfers and up to 30 working days S&S ISA transfers

There is a 15 working day time limit for cash ISA to cash ISA transfers. I'm not aware of any other enforced limits. A cash ISA to S&S ISA transfer should not take any longer than a cash ISA to cash ISA transfer, it is a cash ISA that is being transferred and the steps are identical, but there is not the same level of protection if things go wrong. A S&S ISA to S&S ISA transfer can take longer than 30 working days and is normally longer than a cash ISA to cash ISA transfer.
I would not cancel a cash ISA to S&S ISA transfer that has already taken 13 working days and restart it as a cash ISA to cash ISA transfer. Ascertaining whether there is something terminally wrong with the original request by contacting the receiving provider would be the next step. I would not wait until after the 30th working day to do this.

My CHIP cash ISA to T212 cash ISA took 5 working days last week.

The "chat" function with T212 works quite well and you can get to a human very quickly.

@masonic and @Ayr_Rage I've just contacted Trading212 on the chat and have been informed that Chip have not yet replied to Trading 212 initial request. I've been given a reference number and been asked to contact Chip and ask them to look for T212 email.

    Edit
I've just messaged Chip on chat and am waiting to hear back.

I had an account that Chip couldn’t recognise via open banking.
I then opened a Starling Bank current account online and the set up of the Chip savings acc. was easily completed and funded from Starling. No problems since.
    That might be worth considering.
