There is no longer a limit on a licence, everyone has B+E again now.
B+E may be on the licence, the limit is dependant on the date of obtaining the licence. If it was obtained prior to 1st January 1997, the maximum weight of car and trailer is 8250kg. If it was obtained after that date, that limit is 3500kg.

    Forget the caravan.
    Download the Airbnb app.

Instead of buying, maintaining, storing and dragging around a caravan, plus the cost of a suitable car to tug it, plus towbar and electrics and all that extra fuel it''ll use when you are (and aren't towing), spend the money on a glamping pod, a converted shepherds hut, holiday chalet, log cabin, converted bus, yurt, tepee and whatever else you find to rent on there.

Instead on tying up money in a caravan that'll depreciate, stick it in the bank to make a bit of interest until you want to use it on a trip away.

Then just find a suitable automatic car you can get in and out of, something like a Seat Arona auto (DSG).

Pedant alert. "ft/lbs", torque, really? What are ft per lbs? Torque is lbf ft or Newton metres (Nm). Note force in front of distance.

A video on YT popped up recently,  why some say pounds foot and others foot pounds.  Maybe down to those that read the bodgers bible from Haynes
or a certain age but there were many instances of it.

I bet you hate it when someone says yeah its 47mm long and 2.5inches diameter.   :)
Used to drive my dad nuts because I used both when measuring a single item.

Models can change fairly frequently and there's always a bit of a debate when one thing becomes another... when I bought my Mercedes the AMG kit was an optional extra a few months after and it became standard fit and AMG was added to the end of the model name. On some paperwork it had an AMG suffix on others it didnt... I found it particularly annoying as was insured with Admiral at the time and as an optional extra it had to be declared and it increased the premium because of the dropped suspension however doing a random quote for the newer vehicle with AMG suffix which didnt need to declare lowered suspension and they quoted the pre-suspension impact premium.

The older the car the less most optional extra add value and so its really making sure it has the features you want than getting too hung up on the name

I once bought a new competition motorcycle that is generally considered an off road machine.
It was the easy way to get it road registered for a certain competition (the SSDT) that uses public roads without all the MOT headaches that come with an older one.

The importer supplied all the paper work for the V55 but I had to fill in some of the details, mainly make and model.

Unfortunately my handwriting is far from copperplate which was very noticeable when the V5C got delivered.

I didn't know caravans need servicing. I was just going to spend around £1500 on one (or a trailer tent) and hope it did me and my teenager for a few years. Because it's so expensive to take them during school holidays.
I'm making another post, because I've realised I'm entitled to a mobility car but am worried I won't be able to afford to live if I use my pip (plus still hung up on this towing capacity)

£1500 caravan you really need to know what your looking at.  Where to find damp and how to check the suspension
and drawbar for wear and to make sure it's working properly.

So easy to sell a dangerous caravan that is just an accident waiting to happen,  but sweetening the deal by throwing in an awning and a few
extras that could distract the buyer.

I thought £1500 was enough to get a caravan but all I found were damp mouldy wrecks, non working brakes/seized drawbars and
    wiring issues.

Op have a look at folding campers, we had a Penine Pulman for several years and had a wonderful time with it, going all over France, Italy etc.  Easy to tow and comfy beds.  But look for mould marks when buying as they need to be aired if folded damp after using!
