Please help rogue trader

I bought a land rover discovery 6 weeks ago after a few weeks I had a couple of small issues which were sorted low adblue and a lamp , then I had critically low oil I topped up and tested . (It was meant to have come with a service) then the stop start started working intermittently . I contacted dealership I bought it from they said bring it back. I couldn’t as I was going on holiday the following day. I came back yesterday . I drove a few miles to local Morrisons to get some supplies, all of a sudden the cars completely died. I had to get it recovered which cost £275 . I contacted the dealer they didn’t answer so I text asking what I should do. They’ve said call the warranty company. I’ve said they’re not open . They replied with you’ll have to wait till Tuesday then!

Ive offered them the chance to pick it up and fix it , they’ve refused and said basically they’ve paid for the warranty it’s not their problem. I’ve had it 6weeks roughly and paid £7300 roughly .
I don’t know what to do .
I need a 7 seater as I have 5 children that need to go to school soon. I feel like I’ve been ripped off!

What sort of warranty did the car come with?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Although to be fair OP has consumer rights outside of any warranty.

OP can discuss with warranty company but otherwise any issue would be considered to exist at the time of purchase given it's only 6 weeks since the car was purchased.

OP, how did you pay as whilst you are not there yet if you paid any amount by credit card that maybe another option to progress this.

It might be something as simple as a bad battery. Stop/start does tend to play up as a car battery reaches the end of its life - and if you've been away, the car was standing, so the battery might have discharged a little more, and then your short trip to the supermarket might have been the straw that snapped the camel's back as it were, and everything just shut down.

Did the recovery company perform any tests? Or just pick you up and take you home?

From what you've said - when they offered to take a look at the car with your initial problems - you couldn't as you were away - and then when it's gone wrong on a bank holiday weekend - when all garages are closed anyway - they've said you'll have to wait until Tuesday when everything's open again - sounds pretty fair.

You mention about having to pay £275 to get it recovered - is that an additional charge over your regular breakdown policy? You did have a breakdown policy?

What would you expect them to do today?

They can't magically open a garage to fix your car, and the chances are it might need a new part ordering anyway.

Warranties are generally third party these days - so yes it'll be for the warranty company to advise once the car is examined likely this week. There's always a process to follow - but it's unfortunate that you've got the issue on a bank holiday weekend. Once they are open on Tuesday, give them a call, and I'm sure they'll take you through the options based on the cover that you've got.

I'm not sure where the 'rogue' bit comes in just yet though.

I’m not asking him to do anything over the weekend obviously I’m saying after the weekend I’m not being unreasonable to at least take it back and have the chance to fix it the way he’s worded it is it’s not his problem it’s the warranties company  , I’m pretty sure that’s not the way they will look at it!

Then over the bank holiday weekend you need to read up on your CONSUMER rights then when you take it to the garage tell them your using your consumer rights for a solution and not the warranty.

As its less than 6 months old they need to prove the fault wasn't inherent e.g. it died due to something you did (unlikely) then they have one opportunity to fix it. I'd also be asking for a hire car whilst it is fixed or a full refund so you can buy a different car.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

What was the outcome? Was it a simple fix? Is it needing extensive work?

Have they/the warranty company been a little better in their comms after the bank holiday? Have they outlined a process to solve? Or are you banging your head against a brick wall?
