Tomato Energy (Electric Only Supplier) - Too Good To Be True ?
Comments
-
I've had a mostly smooth transfer.
It didn't happen on the day it should have, but I phoned Tomato and it happened a few days later. MyWatts started working on the first day.
The only slight issue I have is that Octopus have sent me a bill for £20 for my last day. There is no way that their closing reading is correct. It is 89 units higher than the reading I took the day before transfer (and sent to MyWatts and Octopus).
I'm slightly concerned that I'll be charged twice for a chunk of electricity.0 -
This has happened to quite a number of people. Do you have a reading taken on the day of your transfer (as Octopus will have taken their own reading for the day before).marlot said:

Judging by silence in this topic - lack of new customers has helped a lot

Tomorrow will be two weeks after my intended switch date and still nothing. I did speak to a very nice customer service person yesterday who they'd drafted in from sales and he apparently put me on an 'escalated' list. I'm not too concerned - the £80 compensation I'm owed will likely cover the increased cost of Octopus' variable tariff.
Just hope they pay it themselves without me having to go down the ombudsman route.1 -
This is the only thread I follow, my thinking is if TE goes tits up it will be posted on here v quickly hoping giving me enough time to do a switch.Newbie_John said:Judging by silence in this topic - lack of new customers has helped a lot

If you don't follow other groups then you might not know that those that have tried to leave Tomato, even before this one month hiatus, have not successfully left them.HillStreetBlues said:

Even with notice I don't think it's going to be an easy task.1 -
The Hotel California of energy suppliers. No, I don't know of any issues of leaving TE.TroubledTarts said:

I do want them to continue, but like many have my doubts.

I don't follow other groups as I'm only aware of one, and that is on a platform I can't use.Are they objecting to switches out for these customers you mention?1

The only cases I heard were those people who haven't been billed yet and wanted to leave.. all those who have been billed don't really leave.masonic said:I don't follow other groups as I'm only aware of one, and that is on a platform I can't use.Are they objecting to switches out for these customers you mention?
