LISA purchase of office building.

My son wants to buy a small freehold office in his local town with the intention of using permitted development rights to convert it into a residential flat for him to own and live in.  Can he use his LISA to do this?

It would need to be in the process of being converted to a dwelling at the point he made the withdrawal. I don't know how feasible that would be given the sequence of events. It may be possible to use the LISA towards the conversion, in the same way as for a self-build. This probably needs a conveyancer with specialist knowledge in this area.
