Here is a link to a voucher that you can print for 3 Chinese restaurants that have afternoon buffets. One of them is just up from Waverley train station.
Two for the price of one.
Check the conditions though, upto 19:30, not Friday and Saturday and you have to buy a drink.

I would recommend checking out Tantallon castle which is just down the coast a bit. They filmed shoebox zoo there.
Also Craigmillar Castle is great for the kids.
There is also a fair with a very large big wheel at Murrayfield this weekend.

Thanks. Vouchers valid until June 2006. Anyone recommend these restaurants,0 -
I've won a weekend in Edinburgh for 2 at the Grosvenor Hilton including return flights from London :j :j :j :j :j
Can anyone give me some ideas as to where is cheap and cheerful to eat and what we can do on a budget when we get there?
I'm not adverse to burger bars and fast food as I think it all has it's place in life. Also are there any good pubs around there that dont turn into a nightclub after 8pm and not too rowdy?

As there is a long thread regarding what to do in Edinburgh I have merged your thread with that one.
As always you will need to either read back the way or start again at the beginning of the thread.
Loads of website links in this thread for attractions and restaurants.0 -

The Jolly at Elm row (top of leith walk) do a 3 course meal for under £5 so does one down Hannover street ( Bar Napoli i think) . The Basement in broughton street does great meals and they are not too dear. Children can only get into the Basement before 7pm0

Excellent thread. Coming up to Edinburgh at the end of May and definately want to go on one of the Witchery tours...but which one?? Ghost and Gore or Murder and Mystery?
Will be Wife, daughter aged 12, son aged 10 and me. Kids aren't easily scared so that shouldn't be a problem.
Also, as we have folk in Livingston to visit while we're up, we have a slight dilema in that we're debating whether to stay in (say) Livingston and travel into the City by train, or stay in the the City centre at an hotel that does car parking and drive out to Livingston. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.0 -
stay in edinburgh....you'll probably spend more time in edinburgh and when kids are younger like that its nice to have the hotel to pop in and out to pace yourself.x x x0
