Sky+HD > SkyQ and Sky Go

Hi, my HD box has finally given up the ghost and I need to move to Sky Q.

One issue I have is that with my old box I had a AV Sender using the scart of the old box to send a signal upstairs.

from what I understand Sky Q doesn't do this - but you can get a Sky Mini Box for £50 and then £15 a month for the privilege.

I have a smart(ish) TV upstairs - could I use the browser on this to use Sky Go?

Thanks

Sky Go works very happily on my Window 10 and 11 laptops.

Casting doesn't work on Sky Go on  mobile.  Deliberately, by design.

I'd get a used Sky HD box if I were you. I have one you can have FOC if near Bedford. Not sure they are selling Sky Q any more as it is all moving online as the Astra satellite is reaching life ex, they are pushing Sky Stream. No recording on sky Stream and pay to skip the adverts.

Sky HD will be the next thing to be discontinued after the SD boxes.  Then Q will follow.  It is still being sold by the way.

Anyway Sky have a deal until 2030 on the Astra satellites, so if the satellites themselves are at end of life, that's SES's problem, not Sky's.
