dogfonos said:Appreciate guidance on this issue...I wish to completely disable SMS text delivery to my landline 'phone. These texts are usually presented as a garbled voice message. I rarely answer calls from unknown numbers these days so these garbled voice messages end up on my answerphone.I added curfew times using the BT facility years ago - and just confirmed they are still as I set them - but these curfew times don't appear to apply if you're with a different telecoms provider (I'm currently with NOW TV).Question: Can I stop all SMS texts being delivered to my landline 'phone (i.e. at all times).Thanks.-1

I spoke with NOW customer services earlier this week. I was told they couldn't disable these messages and, as a last resort, gave me a four-digit BT number to try but that didn't get me anywhere (I think the number they gave me only works if you're a BT customer).Long story short - if you're not a BT customer, you're unlikely to be able to stop these SMS-to-voice messages arriving at inconvenient hours. My solution is to turn off the landline ringer at night and back on in the morning. Inconvenient but less inconvenient than being awoken an hour or so before I would choose.1

The advice from BT; we have to block the number (0845 602 1111)!
I phoned 0800 587 5252, but that just deals with the curfew, as said by others. If you hold on long enough it gives you helpdesk number, which when I called said this number is no longer available and should call a different number… Which made me laugh. so I called that number and got through to BT Customer Services. I wasn’t sure which option to pick so I just hung there in silence until it got me through to an operator. That helpdesk person was not able to do anything, I was asking to disable or opt out of this service, provided by BT, but they kept on pointing me back to talk to my service provider to block it!I shouldn’t have to block it. I should be able to turn it off or opt out?!
so this is the advice from someone working for BT, you need to add their number for this service to a block list!
In the end, I’m with Gigaclear, for me it was quite straightforward, once logged in, i went to my home phone settings and found the block option easily enough and add it to my list, taking the grand total of numbers I block to 1
I’m hoping this is a similar deal for a lot of people.1
