TBH , the scammers use this type of call in America, in fact there is a video where a senior police officer was called ( and recorded the interaction ) where supposedly a warrant for their arrest was being prepared and police readied to arrest the subject if a ‘fine’ wasn’t immediately paid , but some Americans are stupid ,and you can imagine some of them falling for something so obviously fake , you would hope that no one in this country would be stupid enough to fall for this , especially when they direct you to go and buy a prepaid Apple card or similar , them rejecting any offer to pay by conventional means ….who falls for that type of nonsense ?

You have to keep reminding yourself that if these scams didn't work then the bad people would stop trying to scam people. Won't fool you or me, obviously....

you have to be on your guard constantly with so many people out there trying to find ways to get there hands on your hard earned money. it shouldn't have to be like that, but I guess that's life today.

You can avoid this by just not picking up unrecognised numbers. If it’s important, they’ll leave a message. Spoiler alert: it’s never important and there will never be a message.
