Good morning All
I have a small spend to declare from Sunday, £9.18 in Sainsbugs, mainly on picnic food for Sunday’s lunch. We also used/abused their Nectar Great Fruit & Veg Challenge by buying sufficient carrots and onions to get us over the 25 portions barrier, to give us an additional 500 Nectar points.
This probably won’t be the only spend I declare today. I will be going to L!dl shortly - we need eggs and lactose free milk - and also to collect my dry cleaning from W8rose. There’s nothing that we need from there, but I will browse for YS items. This brings our total spend to £64.36/£182.60 leaving £118.24 for the rest of the month.

Good morning everyone
@LotsOfTea I totally agree with not shopping for the sake of it.
I know I have been able to reduce my food spend partly because of joining this brilliant thread.
It's like having someone on your shoulder saying "do you really need that today" instead of the little devil saying, "buy it"
Had my last shop of the month at Lidl's for this month as off on holiday for 4 nights to a lovely cottage near Exmoor next week.
@Suffolk_lass, I also bought a few treats as we are eating lunch out twice and having what I call a "deli tea" cheese, wine and bits.
It's my birthday while we are away so a lovely pub meal out for both that night and our last.
Hope the weather holds as we are planning on lots of walks.
Anyway, I digress, spent £36.64 on fruit and veg, a few staples, free Mexican rice (from my app) and money off yoghurts, so I bought 4!!
Hoping I can come within budget from holiday spending
Brings Septembers total so far to £118.45/£300
Have a good rest of the day folks

Have been ignoring sorting out my spend as I thought it seemed high on my last post and couldn’t figure out how it had happened. Spent time the last two days trying to figure out how much I’ve actually spent and realised it charged myself in September for the last big shop of august and charged it for august aswell. Other than that I don’t know what’s gone wrong, I think I’ve figured it out now but if not I’ll just say I’ve used the full £350 at the end of the month and start again next month because I can’t keep trying to work it out, I’ve had my bank, money book, sains app and these threads all open tryin to work out what I’ve done
so I give up now.
Total to date £182.01/350 (Hopefully)

Good afternoon All
@thriftwizard thank you for your suggestion about what to do with the beetroot. I cooked it on Monday and it went down well.
One spend to declare from yesterday: £18.30 in L!dl. Nothing memorable to report. It wasn’t our usual branch. I didn’t find where they put their YS items, but I did find their eggs. They had A LOT of free range eggs, so I bought 2 dozen large ones. (Our local store often struggles with eggs.)This brings our total spend to £82.66/£182.60 leaving £99.94 for the rest of the month.
Mealplan-wise, I’ve worked things out for the next few days’ dinners:
Tonight: crustless quiche made with leftover stuffing from Monday night’s peppers, served with roast potatoes and roast sweet potato
Thursday: Chole Paneer (made with chickpeas and paneer from the freezer) served on Bulgar Wheat
Friday: Austrian Potato Pudding (from a Sainsbury recipe book), using black pudding and Greek yoghurt

Uh-oh, things are starting to slide a little - unanticipated (though delightful) visits from DD1 & DS3 have meant that this week's supplies haven't gone quite as far as expected & a few more items have had to be bought. So £16.25 is about to be added to my total, and I may need to extract something from the freezer to base tomorrow's stir-fry on. A visit from OH's twin brother next weekend is also on the cards. Hey ho!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5

We have some friends staying over at the weekend so I popped to the sm today to pick up the extras we need. While I was there I picked up a pack of breaded fish portions which I can do with spuds and veg as easy after-school meals for DS.
£41.34 spent today so I'm up to £134.74/£250.5 -
A fairly economical £50.10 spent today, thanks to one thing & another keeping me out of mischief! If I can keep from too much topping-up next week, I'm now in with a chance of keeping to my target. No visits are forecast; several family members are away/changing jobs/busy with ante-natal stuff over the next weeks so we may be quite quiet (and economical) for a couple of weeks! The freezer's full, the little 'Lottie & greenhouse are still producing, there are apples, blackberries & quinces a-plenty - no excuses!Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5

530/550 I have surprised myself on coming in on budget such a mudily month, with me being away for 5 days and 2 extra adults for 3 days but there you go. When away went to a sainsbury and noticed not much difference in prices to aldis which i was very surprised at and a much bigger selection and loads of stuff to temp you to spend. Obviously will stick with aldi as local to me but was very surprised doesnt seem to be much difference ib prices. Over to October now and in the words of Jackie O Thanks chums21k savings no debt5
