Plug in solar

Just to add: this has been an unusually good April for solar PV. The regulars over Green & Ethical agree that it's one of the two best Mays in the past decade or so (May 2025 was the other one). I might've made 20kWh in half a month with one panel deployed, but I'm not expecting to make 40kWh per panel every month!

4.95kWh for the full day according to the App.
That's two 400w panels aligned 16deg E of South (as per pvgis website) but at an inclination of 15deg.

4.95kWh for the full day
4.95 divided by 0.8 makes 6.2 full power hour equivalents or 6.2 Os in the language of the thread on G&E where we compare our daily outputs.
That's pretty good!
My single 450 watt panel made 1.73kWh which is only 3.8 Os. My rooftop array made 6.3 Os, which is hardly any more than your plugin did.

Do these apps show amount generated or consumed? Ot it's the same thing as when there's no consumption they don't generate.. ?

Do these apps show amount generated or consumed?
They know how much they've generated, and that's what lohr500 and I shared. They don't know how much you've consumed unless you add additional equipment to measure it (and I haven't).
Ot it's the same thing as when there's no consumption they don't generate.. ?
The equipment generates power when the sun shines. It doesn't know anything about your consumption.

The question is why would you do that?
When you could use that solar to reduce your home costs @ peak rate & then charge your car at off peak rate.

… or get paid more to export it than you pay to charge the EV at the low-rate…
Only reason that it can make sense is if you have an older solar installation and you have a FiT with a good level of deemed export…

Trouble is plug in solar on it's own, can not be exported. As it has no DNO approval for export.

Because when the car is sitting there and the house is not consuming a whole lot of power - It would appear logical to top the car up - rather than wasting any excess power…?
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.1 -
i am confused - given 8 panels - has it been confirmed plug in will get seg (i thought not earlier in this thread) , or are you not talking about plug in given your talking a large 8 panel vs more like 2 standard array ?
