Way overpriced you can buy separately for £250 now but understand some will just want a lot off the shelf. Will be interesting what the lidl and Aldi packages come out prices as. I expect very competitive

From what I can see Amendment 4 was finalised in January, and none of the "what's changed" blogs say a thing about plug in solar. To make them legal either the existing rules needs to be modified (which nobody's mementioning), or some external regulation permitting plug in even though it's a departure.

One of the significant existing rules (Amd 3) that would be breached is .. "On the AC side, the PV supply cable shall be connected to the supply side of the overcurrent protective device for automatic disconnection of circuits supplying current-using equipment."

Does anyone know if the VAT exemption is going to be applied to these plug and play systems once authorised ?

As it has iirc been applied to bigger installs iirc ?

(I am presuming UK prices currently include VAT - as this site says tax included - which in itself could wipe off say c£58 of a £350 UK price point basic balcony system if 20% - but a much smaller £16 if only 5% - does anyone know which rate applies now and then once authorised to these systems ?

Tthe brand mentioned most above has there basic no brackets kit for £500 reduced to £350 currently - but still nowhere as cheap as the German Euro pricing above - and doesn't look at first glance different from the Amazon £449 price above with no supports

Am I correct in thinking that the safest thing for this would be an external IP65 socket? It seems to me that the system is outside so that would be the only way without using an extension lead. If that is correct, has anybody an idea of cost for a double outdoor socket fitted? There currently is a single socket on the inside of the wall with my electric oven hard wired and my dishwasher inti the plug socket……thank you, I just don't want to pay more than I need to

has anybody an idea of cost for a double outdoor socket fitted?

I can't find any recent posts from anyone who's actually had one installed, but there was a suggestion in this post that an outdoor socket for a 13A EV charger might cost £300. I'd hope you could get it done for less than that but it's going to depend on a whole lot of factors including how busy your local electricians are!

It is sad that the amazon item linked above contains no statement that these are currently not approved for installation in the UK. One of the comments points this out. But this comment reveals another issue with them, damaged on receipt and very difficult to return:

What makes you think they're not approved? They are approved, under G98. They need professional installation and are supplied without a plug, for your electrician to hard-wire.

But this comment reveals another issue with them, damaged on receipt and very difficult to return:

Amazon's return process isn't really relevant here.

Amazon's return process isn't really relevant here.

    because the review says

Bought this item else ware and one panel was broken on delivery

so the comment refers to the Ecoflow return process, nothing to do with Amazon which did not supply the broken panel.
