Hi Everyone,
With New Year approaching i thought it would be good to revive this thread. Hypno and others used to do this daily but I haven't seen it around for a while. Might remind people that all the little steps really do add up when dealing with debts.
Hypno - I have borrowed your intro - hope you don't mind?
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
I will start off.
Today I will.....

So far;
- Revive some 'dead' breadrolls. I bought a large pack of rolls in Tesco, and left them in the cupboard. When I found them earlier, they were rock solid. I sprinkled them with water and popped them into the oven. Result - Hot, fresh, crusty bread.
- Do some Piggy Clicks
- Enter some comps
- Start the 'sealed pot' challenge
- Get friend to fit new car window - saving £170!!
- Grab lunch at nan's.

Hi sophiesmum et al! I did revive the thread a couple of days ago so there is one floating around for this weekend, but as long as people are posting somewhere and being proud of their small steps, then I am very happy for you to start it!! Hallo All,
I've done my weekly shop on line rather than take the kids to the store. Free delivery thus saving on petrol and no kids means no requests for magazines or sweets or overpriced cereal. Total shop including alcohol (to placate hubby) about £50 less than normal.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Today I will:
Walk to the supermarket instead of taking the car (30 minute walk).
Drink diet coke in the pub with friends tonight instead of a glass of wine
Go for a run or to the gym to make use of membership and prevent spending money somewhere else. (Maybe combine the run with the trip to the supermarket!).
Go to Lidl instead of Tesco
Sorry, I know this isn't what this thread is for but please could someone sned me in the right direction for some instructions on piggy clicks?
Thank you,
Becky:wave:
