New Lloyds Bank app

I like the new app, it's less cluttered and I can see all my accounts one screen rather than having to scroll down past all the various product ads. Now we need an option for dark mode (it's jarring to view in low light), ability to re-order account order on the summary screen and for balances to update in real time when a transfer in happens then it'll be more or less perfect

It is really awful, feels like change for the sake of change. The old app was clean and very "on brand". The new one looks like one big mess to me.

It is growing on me the more I use it. It looks kind of premium with the font. I think with more colour at parts it’s not bad.

I assume that this is the first point before a major overhaul of the website and the brand now that the logo has changed too?

They are spending a lot on digital offerings at the moment, the 'app makeover' is one of them. Problem is that people inherently do not like change and it takes time to adjust. I'm sure Lloyds have spent a lot of time working with customer focus groups on design etc but it will never please everyone. They do seem to listen to feedback though, e.g. when they disabled screenshots and then re-enabled them. I'd suggest anyone who's not happy with aspects of the app, send them some feedback via the app.

One would hope they worked with focus groups but it's not a given. I'd much prefer they overhauled their 50 years old COBOL-powered backend to enable instant notifications and other goodies (like Monzo and all the other fintech startups) instead of switching to a funky font...

Those cards have been in circulation for 2 years and 18 months respectively. In the case of the Lloyds one the branding is now out of date, note the new font and the direction the horse is facing:
