Query regarding Compensation for Cancelled Flight with EasyJet

I was due to fly to Portugal on 03.04.23, the evening before I received a text telling me the flight had been cancelled due to easyJet staff being on strike. The flight was rearranged for 07.04.23 meaning we lost 4 days of our holiday. I thought I was unable to claim compensation due to strike action but reading different forums recently, it seems if the flight was cancelled due to easy Jet staff on strike I could make a claim even though it was last year. I filled in easy jets claim form but the reply doesn’t make any sense it reads - We always review claims fairly and in keeping with EU/UK regulations. LETTER REMOVED ON 06.04.23 AS CHANGED TO NON EXTRA. Thank you for your understanding and we hope to welcome you on board soon. - Even though it doesn’t make sense It obviously means they don’t intend paying compensation so should I just accept this or take it further.

As you say if it's easyJet staff that were on strike you are entitled to compensation.
Something must have gone wrong with the letter (perhaps they use an automated reference which doesn't exist anymore). You can go back to easyJet and ask for a full and proper explanation, as their current response isn't one! If you're still unhappy then you can escalate with AviationADR or follow a legal claim.
No help now.... but for future reference you didn't need to accept easyJet's poor rerouting option. If that was their best offer you could booked on another airline instead and claimed back from easyJet (in theory they should arrange this for you but most airlines don't)
