I forgot my Plusnet contract ended a few months ago

I seem to be paying over £50 a month at the moment, do you think if I phone them they'll give me a discount on a new contract to make up for it?

Well they will give you a new contract for whatever current discount they are offering. Very little chance they will back date it or offer more just because you have let it lapse for a couple of months.2

Did they warn you that the current contract was coming to an end? Ofcom rules state that they must warn you.

Yes, Plusnet do warn you. Just got my first reminder my minimum term is up in 3 months. Will get other notifications as it gets closer.

There may also be an introductory discount applied to your monthly charge for your initial contract period, which we would have made you aware of when you first signed up."Sorry.If you want to stay with Plusnet phone them up and get a better deal. But don't expect any back payments due to what is effectively been (with all due respect) apathy on your part - they've done nothing wrong.1

They didn't bump the price up, as with most ISP's they removed the discount they applied for your commitment to a minimum term with them.
You should just be able to go into your portal and see the offers which you can sign up to online without having to speak to anyone.0 -
Yes this happened to me. I didn't realise. I rang them and they put me on a new lower tariff. When you get the lower tariff check they change it, I got charged the higher rate for another month, but they did refund me when I queried it.
Incidentally I am going to be moving and wanted to stay with Plusnet. However the only option for the new place is fibre which needs an access box which as my new place is grade 2 listed I don't think I can get. So I have just signed up for 150Gb with unlimited texts and voice with Smarty for £15 a month. Unlimited tethering to my laptop so hopefully I won't need a broadband line at the new place. Fingers crossed!0
