We have one, in fact it's bigger than ever. It's just not British-owned.born_again said:
As to what UK car industry do about this competition
We don't have one.. It was killed by Japanese back in the 70/80's & the unions failings to adjust with the times.
I agree about the unions, but inept management also played a large part. Not to mention bad design and appalling quality. What about the public for still wanting to spend their £'s on Allegros and Marinas when there were Sunnys and Corollas available ?and because of all the stick in muds - there was no reason to change their way of working or design of carsThe Marina was little more than a rebodied Morris 1000 - dating from 1948 !The 1000 was an updated version of the Morris 8 /10 from 12 years earlier than this,

Have a look at BYD. Great cars.MattMattMattUK said:
I have test driven one of the MG 4 and Zs ev and there is no way I would pay money for one. Big on the outside, felt small on the inside, seemed slow and lumbering and the build quality felt cheap. The ZS especially seems to be the darling of the reviewers at the moment, but having read the reviews and driven the car it felt like they must be in a different universe reviewing a totally different car.ThorOdinson said:Looks a bit small, like a Tesla Model 3. Pain to get in and out of.Still, it would be nice to see some well priced EVs on the market. You can get an MG for around that much right now, because they new model is coming. Similar range and battery size, but crossover shape so more practical.I doubt it will cost that much though. Remember when the M3 was going to be £27k? And then it arrived at £42k? Or the Ora Cat which was going to be sub 20k but debuted at over £30k.Life in the slow lane0 -
The current ZS EV is really good. Drives well, comfortable, great value.
