Would i buy it? yes but im a sucker for tech and well past the need for name brands

It will be the 'Aldi' of the UK car industry, good does the job  but people will still go elsewhere and pay more for the same (often for less)

Looks a nice car, and attractive spec.

But if you believe that £21k price you'll believe anything.  I suspect it's a straight currency conversion from the retail price in China. I'd expect the UK price to start with a '3'. Or more if we introduce tariffs.

I wouldn't believe anything on that site - looking at https://motowheeler.com/uk/home, the list of cars & prices which it claims are UK models is laughable; the images are of US cars, and the prices are a work of fiction.

The U.K. car industry will lobby heavily for tariffs on Chinese imports much like the EU. Even without tariffs there is no reason for the Chinese company to price it so low in the U.K. market when they’ll be able to sell plenty at £5-10k more

Looks a bit small, like a Tesla Model 3. Pain to get in and out of.

Still, it would be nice to see some well priced EVs on the market. You can get an MG for around that much right now, because they new model is coming. Similar range and battery size, but crossover shape so more practical.

I doubt it will cost that much though. Remember when the M3 was going to be £27k? And then it arrived at £42k? Or the Ora Cat which was going to be sub 20k but debuted at over £30k.

Same advertising rubbish, better plastic = the previous car has really cheap nasty plastic and the plastic used in this one
    will only be marginally better?

What is unique about it, Nothing?

Why are the figures still estimated?  If they have made massive improvements in motor design or battery energy storage wouldn't
they know the cars true range?

Looks a lot like a Polestar, for a good reason.

So in reality the price will be over £40k.

Pick any Chinese car and search price in China and then compare.

    Look who Geely partner with..

TBH, sick of seeing these promoted prices, that never actually make it to the marketplace.
Kia EV3 sub £30K. Sadly Not.
Renault 5 sub £25K sadly not as that is to come at some point in the future, no time frame as to when.
To name but 2, many more out there.

As to what UK car industry do about this competition

We don't have one.. It was killed by Japanese back in the 70/80's & the unions failings to adjust with the times.

We have one, in fact it's bigger than ever. It's just not British-owned.

I agree about the unions, but inept management also played a large part. Not to mention bad design and appalling quality.

I have test driven one of the MG 4 and Zs ev and there is no way I would pay money for one. Big on the outside, felt small on the inside, seemed slow and lumbering and the build quality felt cheap. The ZS especially seems to be the darling of the reviewers at the moment, but having read the reviews and driven the car it felt like they must be in a different universe reviewing a totally different car.
